Where to find potential textile, clothing, apparel wholesale buyers in SF bay area ?

My wife and I live in San Francisco Bay area. We are interested in importing.

My family has textile manufacturing unit (small scale) in one of India's (South pat of India) textile hub. Want to help my family and friends there to grow their business.

Recently, My wife and I have imported few textile clothes from India and have sold to few customers via word of mouth and online ads - a kind of prototyped our business.

However we want to take it to next level. Now, We want to sell to small to medium wholesale buyers here in USA. (Yeah. We want to handle small to medium size orders before we jump into big orders).

Where do we find small - medium size whole sale buyers. Is there traders Association that I should be member of? Is Bay area's Fashion industry vibrant enough to give place to small and medium scale businesses?

Would like to meet with interested partners/buyers in SanFrancisco bay area. Willing to explorer other ideas as well. Please share thoughts or advice.

I suggest you find local wholesale trade shows which cater to the type of textiles you provide.

Does your finance allow for attending a local trade show focused on textiles? You could start with a 10x10 booth, and test the waters a little more before going any deeper.

If not, have you tried locating spaces that deal with wholesale accounts only? I am in New York, and we have a few places where the whole building is dedicated to wholesale businesses.
You must have a registered business in order to access these places, but they could be a wonderful source for contacts and possibly new businesses for you.
