While configuring smtp server in amazon web services, using their SES Service we encountered one issue where SES SMTP sends mail only to verified emails. So we tried to configure sendmail mail server which is open source, but e-mails reaches in recipient spam folder.

We need an SMTP service provider to send secure mails from our server.

Please suggest what you people are using or working on for this service?

I use mandrillapp.com from mailchimp for my transactional emails. You might try them.

Yes, used AWS SES a while ago. Mandrill's management console, reports and ability to drill down to the individual email level makes it a far more compelling product, in my opinion.

I've used Sendgrid and MandrillApp and been happy.  DYN also offers a service but it's overly expensive as its from DYN.

SES requires a verified from email address, but it doesn't require verifying the to email address. Once you verify the from email address, you can send email to any address. You can also verify a whole domain, such that you can send email from any address with that domain.

We use SES heavily. It's a fantastic, minimalist, service for very cost effective email delivery. If you need bells and whistles (such as reporting, like Brent mentioned) SES leaves that burden to your application, so in these cases higher-level services, like Mandrill, can become a better fit.

I've had pretty good luck with MailGun

Mailgun works well at Rackspace. In fact ditching AWS for Rackspace is a really good idea.

@brent and @Lane

Thanks for your immediate response, really appreciated. However would also like to know out of curiosity about AWS SES too. Have you ever tried? If yes what are the experience and challenges?
