Who is your favorite startup investor?

This could perfectly well be an angel investor or a VC investor. Basically an individual that you highly respect in the early stage investing arena. If you could mention why this individual is your favorite that would be great.

Not all investors should be your investor. From my experience, you need to research the options to match what you do with what they invest in. Critical to you and your success is that they need to understand your space very well, either as a prior investor in the space or, preferably, as a participant in the space (if you seek angels or strategic investors).  I have seen many business fail because the leadership and investors were misaligned on plan, strategy, and outcome. VCs have larger capital capability, but they make many investments usually, and all need to be potentially a home run to offset losses for those that fail.  This puts an enormous burden on you to perform fast.  While it is nice for them to say "we are patient", none really are. Angels are eclectic as a rule.  They may have personal capital, but they really need to be aligned with you as the manager of the business, not them as the active participants.  They may be patient and they may not be. They may want to drop in and see you - a lot - and you have a business to run.  They may want to interact with your people to "help" but often it confuses your team. Above all, you need chemistry between you and them,  Chemistry breeds trust. When the unknown happens and things are tough, you need them to trust you and you need to trust them.

Hi Itana. In my opinion, Vinod Khosla is the best. He is older and semi retired I've heard lately. He is my favorite because his Khosla Ventures website teaches you all you need know to be successful, along with his YouTube talks, here is the link:
