We're a startup with all the right numbers as a beta site and yet never hear the question, how did you come up with your market share, visitors performance or awareness.

Perhaps they never plan to be investors in your deal for whatever reason(s) and no need to dig deeper into how you reached your proforma numbers, market share, etc. Next!

There a funny side to this story, they had changed their name several months ago but never purchased their URL.  So I purchased it under my company name, informed them several times about doing the transfer.  Would you believe, them knowing, but the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing.  Their web company just purchased one with a DOT in the middle of the two words.  It was a gift for them and reminded them at our presentation.  They're unaware how this can hurt their online presence.  This VC was only concerned with the look and feel of their company, not their content.
