Soylent has had a number of high-profile health mishaps in the past 18 months. Last year it discovered an algae in its product that was making people sick and just last month it announced that it was recalling a powder that contained dairy in a product that it marketed as lactose-free. It seems like when a major food company makes mistake like this, it faces regulator scrutiny and loses credibility. But Soylent just picked up another $50m in funding even after these scandals. How is that possible?
