Would you hire an intern or virtual assistant for administrative help?

There are a number of small, repeated tasks that we need to do every day, as well as some shorter administrative projects that crop up every week. I believe these tasks take up too much time that could be used to improve my app. In general, they also cause me to lose focus. I’m looking to hear the pros and cons of a virtual assistant or intern from people who have tried either (or, better yet, both!).

Virtual assistants certainly help if you can find the right one..This may demand some effort from you initially in order to make the process simpler going forward but once you are on track; VA is far better than interns (again it depends).

VAs can help with business and accounting support.

We have been helping with clients with business support in the form of Sales and Marketing Support, Web Based Support, Administration Support and Office Management Support.

If interested, we can initiate a discussion.

Best of luck.

I have used both. Interns require much more time from you in guidance and oversight. I too have found that interns have to be replaced often (i.e. school gigs expire) so didn't see much upside to saving time. VA's work really well. I searched until I found one local. You could post on local community boards, college career centers, church bulletins, etc., to find very, very qualified people (mothers and retired folks) w/ excellent integrity.
