I've been toiling away in india over the last couple of years learning and unlearning tech (first at design + eng agency) and currently at a "REVOLUTIONARY" payments startup (getsimpl.com), which i am in the process of leaving.
I have seen enough in the last couple of years to now be tired of the hype cycle that comes with startup life. There's a ton of mediocrity (in India especially, where growth pressures are arguably stronger, and the consumer market less supportive), and a lack of professionalism and transparency that has worn me down. Right now I'm suitably disillusioned and hence figuring out my next move.
I'm reasonably smart (enough to hopefully not sink the ship). In the past I've run a services startup and built a product from scratch and both are doing pretty well.
