Video gaming is poised to disrupt the traditional testing and assessment enterprise, a $10 BILLION per year industry. posed2 is the only game-based platform that matches kids and colleges based on the student’s career goals, using advanced analytics and machine learning technology. Fortified by a highly competitive and non-dilutive, quarter million dollar grant from the National Science foundation, we’ve conducted extensive market research, built a high-fidelity minimal viable product, and have built preliminary, predictive algorithms, with game data from over 5000 users.
We are looking for an awesome technology professional to lead the charge. Title, equity, and budgeted salary depending on experience. We’re a scrappy, pre-rev startup. Our Lead Technologist must code!
Responsibilities
• Translate high level business goals into technical solutions.
• Create and commit to product development schedules.
• Take responsibility and deliver quality focused products.
• Rapidly produce interim deliverables (technical design documents, operational documents/run books, prototypes, proofs of concept, etc.).
• Use judgment to suggest solutions that optimize among customer needs, business constraints and technological realities.
• Evaluate 3rd party source code, with an eye toward modifiability and maintainably, and make purchasing/licensing recommendations based on these evaluations.
• Recruit, interview and provide recommendations on technical staff candidates.
• Lead and mentor technical staff.
• Define team-wide engineering best practices and hold all technical staff to these standards.
• Design and build scalable backend infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain data analytics collection and processing system, focusing on consistency and integrity of data.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Attributes
• Basic skills include cloud technology – preferably AWS – and/or data science.
• Possessing deep technical experience and intuition.
• Experienced in full stack development.
• Abile to work with and understand a diversity of languages (C#, python, javascript, typescript).
• Focused on maintainability and scalability.
• Follows sound engineering principles.
• Sophisticated in communicating the essence of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred
• AWS experience a plus.
• Operations/DevOps knowledge a plus.
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts a plus.
• Game development experience a plus.
• Previous startup experience a plus.
