About Anshuman

I am a Research Scientist in the Camera Culture Group at the MIT Media Lab and the MIT Tata Center for Technology and Design. I work on creating rapid diagnostics and sensors that are smart, predictive, and accessible and will improve health and wellness. I am exploring intersections of optics, spectroscopy with smartphone imaging that will be beneficial for a range of applications from health screening to food and beverage sensing.

I am currently working towards a venture that aims to bring labs on a smartphone to perform various types of testing. It is based on an MIT invention and has potential applications across several industries from food to oil and gas sensing.

I am looking for a partner with experience in business development, fund raising, preferably someone with prior startup experience to be the CEO/VP Business Development.

Labby is a suite of smartphone based devices that enable rapid, low-cost, lab quality testing of food, beverage and agro products at a fraction of the cost using optical spectroscopy and cloud based analytics. Labby aims to empower small food/beverage producers and farmers to perform high quality testing at home, field or a facility in a convenient manner. With this technology we envision better predictability and repeatability in the product as a result of frequent and standardized testing.
