Founded 2+ startups
I'm looking to co-found a new company, and I'm looking to connect with others whose skills complement my own. I'm mostly industry-agnostic, but areas I'm most interested in are listed above.
My favorite part of startups is the early stage, finding product-market fit, interviewing customers, prototyping, and early execution. I'm the guy who gets version 1.0 of the product built, and builds it so it can scale and grow with the company. I'm a proponent of agile processes and constant customer engagement--we are building apps for them, not for us!
I'm an experienced founder and software engineer who spent most of his professional career building startups (2 profitable businesses, 3 that did not succeed). Although I wear many hats and any given day may involve coding, planning, managing operations, support, customer development, sales calls, and marketing, my biggest strengths are by far coding with a focus on constant customer feedback and engaging the customer from the beginning--before writing a single line of code.
As a software engineer I've built many different kinds of projects. I even study the tools and practices of my industry to stay ahead (and get various developer certifications). At this point in my career I've built:
• Web applications including data analysis, medical, government, CRM, and portals (LAMP full stack)
• Mobile apps for iOS (Objective-C and Swift)
• Scalable server and database infrastructures (AWS and RackSpace)
• Software for desktop computers (.NET)
• 3D simulations (Unity)
One of my biggest takeaways from my failed startups is that the best co-founders have different, complementary skills. I'm a coder and business strategist/planner first, so I'm looking for people who excel in other areas like marketing and sales.
Message me and let's explore what we can build together!
