About Armando

Armando Tomas Bulacia was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He studied architecture and design at the University of Miami, Florida, U.S.A. where he obtained the title of Bachelor of Architecture en 1982. During his academic career he received the Citizen's Committee Award, awarded by the City of Coral Gables, Florida for excellence in academic and athletic endeavors. Armando returned to Argentina in 1983, where he worked in various prestigious design firms participating in residential, commercial, corporate, and institutional projects as head designer, construction manager, and project administrator. En 1994 he began his career in multinational companies dealing mainly with building products and stationed both locally and abroad. During this time he occupied managerial positions in Armstrong World Industries Inc. (Building products/USA), Do It Best Corp. (Hardware stores/USA), MKS (Retail convenience stores/Chile), SAAP (Autoparts stores/Argentina & Canada) and U.S.G. (Building products/USA) where he earned diverse awards for performance, and leadership excellence, and also acquired expertise in the business development of new markets, as well as startups. In 2002 he received an M.B.A. in International Business from the University of Miami, Florida, USA. After returning to Buenos Aires, in 2012 he set up and operated USG's first manufacturing facility in Latin America and in 2013 founded OFF-SITE with the idea of developing light gauge steel building technologies and in-plant Pre Fab Modular Building Systems in the region.
