With my co-founder Sasa I have created "Verree" a business that aims to stop ticket touting and improve the experience of attending live events.
Our goal is to stop ticket touting without doing so at the expense of real fans. Existing 'solutions' either do not work or only work by making by life difficult for real fans. We have created a system that will stop ticket touting and create a better experience for fans attending events.
To date we have had £100,000 of seed investment and have secured our first customers (event promoters) and have begun to register users.
We have started to build an ecosystem that already includes a website, an API for ticket vendor integration, a mobile app for iOS and Android, and a sophisticated access control system (i.e. scanning tickets) that also runs on Android devices.
Our business is challenging - but we think that makes it exciting. We are both B2B and B2C. Our product is mainly consumed through the web but also has to be deployed at concerts, festivals and other events. For the right person it's a demanding project with lots of practical and technical challenges to get stuck into.
Our team has a lot of experience in events and marketing but we are light on technical skills. We need someone who can take the leading technical role and drive the development of our eco-system.
We ideally need someone who is a bit of an all-rounder but most of all we need someone with serious back-end experience. You will need excellent knowledge of PHP and ideally will have experience of using the Laravel framework. On the front end we make extensive use of Angularjs and it would be great if had worked with this too.
The main tasks we need someone to take the lead on are:
- Providing technical guidance to third-party ticket vendors integrating with our service and developing our API to meet their needs
- Ensuring our data structures as fit for purpose as we start to scale and attract larger numbers of users
- Building awesome new features that build on the capabilities of our core product, creating awesome experiences for consumers and event organisers
We work from our shared office space in East London and you will be able to join us in working from there or work remotely from home. We do ideally want someone based in London as believe there are real benefits from working in the same space. However we would consider applications from someone who would work remotely from elsewhere in the UK. We need someone who can commit at least 20 hours a week with the ability to go full-time once we raise investment in order to pay salaries.
If you like the sound of what we are trying to do we would love to hear from you.
