About Dae

Dae Bogan is currently the Adjunct Professor of Entertainment Marketing and Cross Promotion at Emerson College, Founder and CEO of ChazBo Media, and an integrated marketing and business development consultant providing long-term and project-based consulting services to a variety of start-ups and emerging companies. Dae also serves as an advisor to several music tech startups in the Greater Los Angeles area.

A serial entrepreneur who has been featured in YFS Magazine (Young, Fabulous & Self-Employed), Dae started his first business as a teen in high school and has since founded numerous businesses including a marketing agency, an event production company, an independent record label, a music publishing company, an artist management agency, and two music tech startups.

Prior to joining Emerson and founding ChazBo Media, Dae served as the Vice President of Marketing & Strategic Partnerships at Shiekh Shoes–a millennial targeted urban footwear and apparel retail chain–where he developed and oversaw the Shiekh Music program, which included music retail, artist support, and in-store music programming.

Dae is highly active in music industry scholarship. He has been a guest instructor at music production schools, including SAE Institute, The Los Angeles Recording School, and Musicians Institute. Dae regularly speaks and moderate panels at music industry events; writes about tips, resources, and challenges for the do-it-yourself (DIY) independent artist; and contributes to discussions, debates, and critiques on various topics facing the music industry as a whole. Recently, Dae was a contributing pundit to Bobby Owsinski‘s book “Music 4.0: A Survival Guide For Making Music In The Internet Age.”

Dae is currently completing the Master of Arts, Music Industry Administration degree program at California State University, Northridge.
