About Daniel

My name is Dan Gray and I am looking to join a start-up that has an idea and a rough prototype with a few technical team members already in place. This could be 2 people or 20! In the short-term, this is a team that is looking for ways to generate user adoption and feedback first then chase investor and seed money once there is a minimal amount of marketplace validation. Another key trait that I am looking for is a team that values the importance of user feedback, user experience and a willingness to prioritize the technical roadmap based upon what the users will ultimately not only use - but pay for (and/or other ways that would generate revenue).
In the way of background about myself, I am a Program Manager who has experience with implementing large, transformational programs in a variety of areas in the "Big 4", Telecom and healthcare domains. I am comfortable with a high level of ambiguity that would serve the team well while implementing something new. After helping large companies generate value and develop new capabilities for the past two decades, I believe that my experience with leveraging processes and technology would make me an ideal match to augment the technical capabilities of a start-up in the Dallas area. Additionally, my focus on capturing and communicating business value throughout the Product lifecycle ensures that the team is aligned with stakeholder value expectations. Here are a few of my selected accomplishments:

• Led a Real Time Location System project on a cross functional team with clinicians, outside consultants, IT and Finance that delivered $350,000 in hard dollar savings in 4 months.
• Led a Cost Optimization project for the CIO and other officers to reduce IT budget by 10 percent in 6 months. I facilitated success by creating a framework to show the relative rankings of over 80 proposals and gained consensus on top-ranked initiatives to implement.
• Led a team that started a new line of business in a hospital to capture almost $100M in additional Federal reimbursement revenue over 5 years, including staffing models and approach that linked processes and technology for monitoring financial and operational metrics.

In summary, I have lots of experience implementing new technology and business processes in ways that have never been done before.
