About Susan

Petfinder.com was created in 1996. It's goal was to increase local pet adoptions at local shelters. It succeeded. On any given day, there are approximately 350,000 pets available on it's site for adoption... and about 22 million pets have been adopted. Their success lies in aggregating the nation's adoption data.
It sold to Discovery Communications in 2006 for $35 million. It recently sold again to Nestle Purina for an undisclosed amount.
I am working on creating a similar model but looking to aggregate the world's lost pet data (instead of adoption data) and create a system that consumers and shelters both use... a site where the experience is more "Apple" and less "DMV".
We are looking for a backend developer with Java skills... a love of animals is a plus.
Please don't hesitate to call or email if you have interest.
Thanks in advance.
