About Evan

I first got involved with entrepreneurship through 3 Day Startup in Fall 2012. At that time, I had already signed an offer letter to join an investment bank up in New York, so I couldn't continue to work on the project. I spent what free time I did have learning to program (JavaScript, PHP, Ruby + Rails). I got good enough to read code and talk about different solution designs, but I'm still incredibly slow at writing it. Eventually, I came back to Austin to work at a growth-focused private equity fund called Tritium Partners. I've learned a lot about smaller companies while here from the senior team members who used to be at Austin Ventures and led the initial investments in companies like HomeAway and RetailMeNot. I also attended a hackathon called AngelHack a while back, and continued to work on that business for ~8 months with my co-founders after that. After we didn't get the traction we wanted, we shut it down. We failed, but it was a great learning experience essentially acting as the Product Manager.
