About Gene

I love doing software development work; either I am writing it, teaching it or growing a team around me to make amazing products. I got my start in software development in 1992 while still in high school, when I starting building websites and eCommerce websites for the next 10 years, then moved to custom solutions until I started at TD Ameritrade 5 years ago. In 2015 I founded 24 Proof to solve two issues defining a client software need and locating talented coders that can build that client's need.

Managing Director & Full-Stack Developer for hire

24 Proof

January 2015 - Today

At 24 Proof, we built a patent-pending technology to allow for POC prototyping via an interactive online hackathon. 24 Proof has recently expanded beyond POC hacking, with an agency and sourcing model, which enables the client to have 24 Proof -- Hack it, Build it, Run it, Staff it. With this expansion, I now oversee client current/future needs, empower the engineering and growing company version. I am available for client project work as Lead Developer; currently, on a Senior Full-Stack Developer using React + Redux + React Native + Go Lang project right now; please reach out if you need my help.

We used Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, Sass, Node on Veo One and jade, jeet, rupture, stylus and full-stack JavaScript on marketing sites. Besides coding, I did code reviews, ran Agile/Scrum meetings, mentored developers, worked with leads in UX, Java devs, QA and ran demos for product owners.
