About George

I was a Technical Consultant for 15 years in the content management and enterprise search space. I was lead engineer on big data search applications for organizations like Coca Cola, AT&T, GlaxoSmithKline, the United Nations, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, International Monetary Fund, JP Morgan Chase Bank, Avaya, Aventis, Mercedes Benz, Sotheby's and many more.
Some interesting projects include:

- Automating production of the new drug application for the compound that was to become "Allegra" for Hoerchst Marion Roussel (now Sinofil Aventis)

- Semantic search application for U.N. Resolution 1441 - cataloging missile, biological and chemical weapons in Iraq (there weren't any, but the invasion happened before that negative could be proven)

- "Bird Flu" - H5N1 Surveillance for the U.S. Government - automated semantic analysis of news feeds for mentions of bird flu and related concepts.

- Coca Cola gold archives - parametric search for over 100 years of advertising media from The Coca Cola Company

- Parametric search for Sotheby's auction house in preparation for online sale of one of the original copies of the Declaration of Independence.

- Faceted search and navigation for Code Nast's Brides.com site, helping beautiful brides prepare for their perfect day.

- Back when CDs were a thing, work for MTV Networks music search project that never really got off the ground.

- Some other stuff that I can't talk about, but was really cool.
