My colleague and I were engaged by a growing B2B SaaS financial planning company (code name “Gust”) that is seeking a CEO to focus on marketing.

Gust is a personal financial planning tool covering all aspects of financial life, including spending, investment, financial education, and many other areas. Primary revenue is generated from employers that subscribe to Gust’s software as a service (SaaS) for their employees’ use. Secondary revenue is generated from referring users to investment advisory and insurance products offered by an affiliate. The firm achieved a 48% cumulative annual revenue growth rate from 2015 through 2019. Based on its sales pipeline, revenue is expected to grow from $0.6M in 2019 to a run rate of $1.9M by the end of 2020. Given Gust’s 80% profit margin, the firm can continue to self fund the capture of its $38B market.
