First time founder
I truly believe that we are not living up to our full potential until we are working on projects fueled by our own unique passions. In such cases we can be internally driven beyond measure, willingly step out of our comfort zones and grow, and be absolutely enthralled in what we are providing to the world. To work on passion projects has been and will always be a goal of mine; not to say that it will always be my reality, but the resulting effects listed above make it enduring and omnipresent.
I enjoy nothing more than building and creating. Whether it be furniture for a new apartment or a business, I love the process, the effort, and the ultimate validation of success. To me, life is about growing into the best version of yourself. By electing to start something from nothing - to build something meaningful like a start-up - we are able to push ourselves into new situations, learn a multitude of new disciplines, and strive for the impact and the life we've always wanted. If life is about becoming your best self, I think being a founder is the optimal path.
While I went to school and earned a practical degree for the career path I wanted to embark upon at the time, life has changed since. I no longer want to suppress my entrepreneurial side in favor of practicality and stability.
I am happy that I've found a project to work on in line with one of my passions and to be on a path to true fulfillment and the impact and life I desire. And as a first time founder, I know it's sink or swim - do what it takes to succeed or fail. Though I may not be specifically aware of the amount of work it may take or the mental strength needed to build a a high-growth start-up, I do know myself, my qualities, and am confident I have what it takes...if I wasn't I would fail before starting.
