About Kelly

Experienced Marketer, Project Manager, and Event Professional with a demonstrated history of working in the music and ecommerce industries. Skilled in Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Sales, Management, Marketing Strategy, Event Production, and Social Media. Strong arts and design professional with a Bachelor of Science focused in Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Music Industry from Syracuse University.

From importing jewelry wholesale from China to sell to classmates in the 4th grade, to launching a car detailing business before I could drive, to using all my savings to book concerts in college - my entire life has been sculpted by my entrepreneurial ventures. I've always had a difficult time sitting still, thus my hands stay busy trying to build, create and innovate.

I have degrees in Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Music Business from Syracuse University. Since graduating in 2009, I have spent time working in marketing for Sony Music, working with the management firm responsible for the careers of Sting/The Police, and most recently, managing the Marketing Communications Team for an Internet Retailer Top 200 E-commerce firm.

I have been a musician for 20 years, and have owned and sold more guitars, amps and accessories than I could ever begin to count. In 2014, struggling to find a specific guitar I needed to play a gig, I began thinking about the outdated model of music instrument ownership, and the difficulty involved with finding and trying new gear. Unless money is of no object, many musicians such as myself find themselves in a never-ending cycle of buying instruments at retail, playing said instruments for a certain period of time, and then selling those instruments to finance the purchase of new instruments we'd like to play. It's a model that's as old as the guitar itself.

Frustrated with the lack of options, I spent 3 months crafting a business plan, found several early stage angel investors, and launched a web-based music equipment rental subscription service called Switches+Strings in January 2015. Though the company closed two years later during a drawn-out, expensive intellectual property legal battle, the experience of running this startup provided me with a vast skill set and understanding that I am now ready to apply to a new venture.

I am seeking opportunities to partner with individuals in need of a founder with real world experience in project management, marketing, sales, fundraising, and more.
