About Liran

I have a finance background with a proven track record of success – I graduated first in my class from the Masters in Financial Engineering Program at UC Berkeley and spent 9 years at JPMorgan developing new derivative products and platforms, where I led all structuring professionals for 3 out of my last 4 years by generating over $250MM revenue for the bank. My role there entailed all aspects of the trade process from start to finish, including idea generation, marketing, structuring, modeling, negotiating documentation, and maneuvering around any legal, regulatory, compliance, tax, or accounting hurdles.

I am currently working to put together an automated payment platform to help consumers manage spending, save money, and improve their credit. Check out for more info. Debitize is not just an idea - I have spent quite a bit of time cultivating and refining the concept, including:

• Customer validation - I have done in-person and phone interviews, run a bunch of Google surveys, and now running a FB ads campaign to test cost of e-mail sign ups – some with the help of an experienced startup marketing professional
• Setting up a landing page ( which has generated 150 email leads
• Designing demo screens for the app
• Speaking to lawyers and compliance professionals to sort out how to structure the cash flows and accounts to avoid regulatory hurdles
• Filing a provisional patent application
• Arranging for a payment provider that will handle ACH debits for us (much harder than it sounds) – I’m also in discussions with Wells Fargo for when we are farther along
• Sorting out logistics and lining up the service providers required
• Reaching out to journalists and bloggers who are interested in writing about Debitize once we are ready, as well as other potential distribution partners
• Meeting with other Fintech professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors who are interested in getting involved
• Participating as a fellow in the 2015 Startup Leadership Program

I also have some of the code already written – I would guestimate about halfway towards an MVP – and am now looking for the right person to come on board and help take it the rest of the way there and beyond.

This is really a unique opportunity to both make a real impact helping people and build a very profitable business. I personally care a lot about making an impact (and specifically about financial literacy), teamwork, and integrity, and am looking for a solid web developer with similar views. Experience with payments/finance/security is a plus but not necessary. If that's you, let's talk!
