About Lyle

I was in a band signed on a major record label years ago. I know how hard it is to accumulate fans, to keep them coming back to shows, and to get them to buy merchandise (which is one of the main ways touring groups make money). I want to help these mid-level touring groups develop their fan base and create more revenue for themselves. I have an idea for a mobile application that will help make it easier for fans to connect with bands and buy specialty merchandise at live shows, while creating a platform for bands to make more personal connections with their fans. I wrote about the impetus for the idea on my blog here: http://lylemckeany.com/the-road-is-fuckin-hard.

Ideally, I would like to attempt to join a startup accelerator program such as Y Combinator, 500 Startups, Techstars, and the like. I've spoken with founders who have done it and their experiences were invaluable.

I have many years of experience in business/sales and currently manage a small team of sales and customer service employees. I have an excellent design sense and I am learning to code in my spare time. I am also attempting to apply to developer bootcamps in the hopes that I can learn even more and possibly work as a front-end developer if I am unable to find a suitable cofounder.

My ideal cofounder will have much more technical knowledge than I do and a passion for startups and entrepreneurship. Bonus points if this person has former experience in the music space and loves music.

If you work with me, you will find that I work tirelessly and want nothing more than to succeed as an entrepreneur. I am looking forward to pitching investors, assembling a team, releasing a product to the world, and learning from customers as we iterate and refine the product.

While I am based in Sonoma right now, I would eventually like to move to San Francisco to be at the epicenter of the tech startup community. I have forged a decent small network from afar, but I am looking forward to being in San Francisco on a regular basis.

Let's meet up and talk!
