About Mark

I'm Mark, 29 and originally from Essex however I live in the North East and have done for the last 10 years.

I am currently a Sales and Marketing Director for a successful eLearning firm. My background is very much in SaaS where I have worked for 4 early stage SaaS firms, all of which have been successful and still running or acquired.

I am always interested in new ventures where I can add value. I'd love to hear from anyone with an idea looking to set up their own business and in need of help from a Sales, Marketing or Strategy point of view.

September 2007 - February 2009

As the club was newly promoted to the Barclays Premier League I aided the Marketing Manager in rebranding the club and helped implement a style guide across all levels, I also co-run a season’s worth of campaigns from start to finish including Home & Away Kit launches, Season Ticket renewals, Christmas etc. In addition I helped promote, developing and maintain effective relationships between the club and its key sponsors, bring together constant research for the club looking at competitors and customer feedback, manage advertising within the stadium concourse, develop and maintain an integrated marketing project, run SAFC 24-7 the Club’s junior supporters club, media monitoring and when necessary oversaw the football manager and first team player interviews.

As the organisation had out grown their original marketing premise I was appointed to plan and implement a new marketing strategy across all levels of the organisation. Reporting directly to the MD, my role saw me introduce new marketing literature, design and implement three websites, pioneer new marketing ventures such as digital & social media. I also introduced and coordinated monthly newsletters, weekly webinars, and blogs. In addition I managed our PPC & NSEO strategy, wrote whitepapers, case studies, maintained our websites and organised exhibitions. From a PR perspective I targeted journalists and formed solid relationships. I regularly wrote press releases as part of this rule, ensuring TTF received a generous amount of column inches locally (NE Journal & Sunderland Echo) and nationally (Financial Times and The Times).
