I recently sold a profitable business in the brand protection / IP monitoring space, now looking forward to the next thing.

I founded my previous business on a simple but clever idea for finding previously unavailable information related to trademark violations on the internet (back then we used to say "the internet"), and it became almost instantly and continuously profitable for the next 13 years after a small initial investment in hardware and hosting services. The trademark information practically sold itself, customers wanted it, we sold it to them, word of mouth, networking, conferences brought in more customers, it was relatively simple.

My current idea will take place in the mobile space, and needs a critical mass of users to be interesting, therefore a strong focus on conceptual and marketing issues will be central at all stages of development. Technical execution and sales will not be enough.
