About Max

Before coming to the University of Chicago, I was an early employee at a solar photovoltaic sales and financing startup based in Baltimore - Astrum Solar. There, I was responsible for early market targeting and development as the company expanded from four state markets in 2010 to ten in 2011. I also negotiated a $400k contract for the (at the time) largest commercial solar PV system in the state of Virginia and led our company's involvement in three major policy campaigns to reshape solar energy procurement and state energy porfolios across the mid-Atlantic. I left that company to take a full-ride merit scholarship to the University of Chicago Law School, where I've been very involved in business plan competitions at the Booth School of Business, including winning the Fall 2013 Building the New Venture competition, where student groups form teams and the produce business plans, pitch investors and complete a simulation of the first six months of a startup's life.
