About Deborah

Our country has many talented individuals not contributing value due in part to changes in the employer-employee relationship and needs of business. People need a way to generate human capital, contribute, and be part of a community.

I want to transform the current models of support and services for individuals in career transitions. Focusing on strengthening regions and success for everyone, and measuring well-being and local economic impact. The first pilot is planned for Northern Essex County (Andover, North Andover, Lawrence, Methuen).

I'm looking to build my operations team - project manager, sales, designer - to help test, and grow, the model. I need a team with an entrepreneur mindset for experimentation and getting started with the means at hand, ability to dream and push the boundaries of what we know and learn, as well as the ability to execute.

About Me...
Deborah Burkholder, Co-founder MB Associates, LLC dba Appia (get@appia.com) focuses on leveraging resources, especially time and talent, to create better organizational and economic solutions, and solve HR challenges. My background is in corporate human resources specializing in talent acquisition and organizational development with a focus on productivity and employee engagement. I teach career planning and management at Suffolk University Sawyer Business School. I Chair the Workforce Readiness Committee and am representative to the Business and Industry Association for the NH (and northern MA) HR State Council; I co-lead the job search support group Career Transitions of Greater Boston; I’m the Secretary-elect for the NH ACT State Council (Career Ready); and serve on the Advisory Board and Standards Committee of Family Services of the Merrimack Valley. As the President of the New England Association of Career Professionals International (ACPI-NE), I helped launch MIT’s Institute of Work and Employment Research Institute for Career Transitions to study the effectiveness of career coaching with the long-term unemployed and add to our body of knowledge.
