About Maribel

So I moved to New York, learned a whole lot about consulting in the education space, and now I'm ready to take what I've learned and share it with my hometown, Miami. Having started my career as a teacher almost two decades ago and with 7+ years of professional development/training, public and private schools in Miami are desperate for the type of professional development I offer--technology integration (Web 2.0, iPads), using technology with English Language Learners, Google Apps for Education, and developing teacher leaders--because districts offer little to no support with implementing new initiatives like technology in the classroom. I need someone who can advise me on marketing strategies, legal issues such as whether or not to become a LLC, and suggest ways I can grow (my vision is to expand beyond job-embedded PD and offer online courses, video support, and such). Most importantly, I'm not in this to become a millionaire (although I wouldn't mind having a few employees someday), instead my focus is to partner with teachers, have our work be relevant to their needs and the needs of their post-millenial students, and to develop and retain the next generation of world-class educators. Best part: I expect to have my first paying customer by this fall.
