About Mike

I spent one and a half years working at a large law firm, Quinn Emanuel, but grew restless and frustrated by the narrow scope of my work. I came to Quinn because it allowed me to take depositions of adverse witnesses, participate in a four-week trial, and assist in negotiating licensing agreements for software companies. I left because I wanted to shape business strategy, not just advise on the legal issues at play. I needed a bigger challenge, so I accepted an offer to build startups in Southeast Asia with Rocket Internet (yes, the infamous clone factory started by the Samwer brothers).
As the product manager at Lazada, and later as a cofounder and managing director of OfficeFab in Indonesia and Vietnam, I oversaw development and content, negotiated deals with suppliers and marketing channels, built and optimized online marketing campaigns, and reduced huge datasets into actionable insights. Lazada had been developing for a month before I joined but had not yet launched. We scaled (in Indonesia) from 0 to 500 orders a day in 4 months, with each of us taking on several different roles given the needs that day or week. I took OfficeFab from abstract idea to a 30-person team, posting week-on-week growth in both Indonesia and Vietnam.
I currently am a product manager at a mobile gaming startup, focusing mainly on traditional PM tasks as well as game design and user acquisition.
