About Steve

Hi and thanks for checking out my profile. I originally wanted to invent hands-free shoes for my son (see profile video), but soon realized there was a huge opportunity here. I spent over 6 years in development, obtaining patents, sourcing manufacturing and raising capital. After a very long journey, Quikiks Hands-Free Shoes finally made it to market in 2015. They are the first fully supportive, totally hands-free operable shoes that allow people with various physical or cognitive challenges to easily step into the shoes and have them securely fasten without the need to bend over use their hands. I think they have the potential to positively impact the lives of millions of people who struggle with this task by improving their quality of life and increasing their independence and safety. if you spend some time with me at a trade show hearing the stories of some of the people that come by my booth, you'd feel the same way -that's what's kept me going.

I have done a lot of the leg work getting Quikiks to market basically as a solopreneur (I do have two angel investors, but they are not involved in the day-to-day at all.), but I have come to the realization that I need help getting traction. There are a lot of possible paths to bring Quikiks to market and I have not yet figured out which are the ones to focus on. I am looking for a co-founder that has marketing and sales experience who can also help build strategic partnerships that can help us get more revenue coming in. You would be exploring different channels -many of which I've planted seeds in already, to help us figure out which ones make the most sense. You are personable, organized, a great communicator and great with the follow-up. Ideally you have some cash to bring to the table too to give us more runway so we have time to get more traction while we look to raise the next round.

By the way, I have strong connections with people with disabilities. 10% of the company's profits will go to organizations that serve people with disabilities and my long-term goal is to have a Quikiks distribution center in NYC that will employ people with disabilities.
