About Rob

I am a startup addict, recovering engineer (robotics and some SW dev) and recovering corporate sales guy. My last corporate job was as a VP of sales for CA technologies, NYSE. I know enterprise, i don't know consumer. Recently sold my 3rd startup which helps to support my current habit, startup #4. I've had 1 failure, 1 successful exit, 1 continuing success (grew company from zero to 50 employees and multi-millions in annual revenue - still going after 14 years). #4 is a SaaS, B2B2C subscription model. We have $$ commitments from 8 enterprise customers prepared to write checks as soon as we have a product for them. We will be cash-flow positive within 90 days of launch. Web app written in RoR is about 80% complete for rev1.0. 100% bootstrapped thus far. I am looking for an eclectic mix of visionaries with integrity, scars, passion, energy and experience in building and leading teams in: SW development, design/UI/UX, marketing, sales (inside and outside), business development, operations. I am an engineer by training and was a coder and engineering manager once upon a time so i understand what keeps engineers up late - it's what still keeps me up late. i have 5 issued patents. I migrated to sales engineering (keeping the sales guys honest) and then into sales, sales management and then ran a division of a large, public software company. I've managed small teams and large ones. I then left the corp world for startup land and never looked back. We currently have 2 FT developers and 2 part time developers woking on product. Customers and distribution partners really connect with our vision ("i love it...when can i have it?" is a common response). We are one of the first Social Purpose Corporations in the US and we are passionate about corporate social responsibility - so much so that it's baked into our articles of incorporation. Our product is easy to understand and, while not rocket science, is sufficiently technically challenging that it keeps the engineering juices flowing. Rev 1.1 will focus on a mobile component.
