National residential energy efficiency experts CEO Cynthia Adams and President/COO Robin LeBaron seek a CTO to join them in building a dynamic, highly scalable and mission-driven business. Our company, Pearl Home Certification, provides a marketing platform to high-quality residential HVAC and other contractors that differentiates them as home energy professionals who can make their customers’ homes safer, more comfortable and more energy efficient.
Pearl generates revenue by certifying energy efficient homes and by providing a range of services to contractors. As one of only two for-profit sponsors of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program, we leverage the power of the widely-recognized ENERGY STAR brand. Our growth potential is huge: residential contracting is a $60B market, and top contractors in the space are hungry both for credible third-party validation and for the marketing support we offer.
We’ve raised a seed round from professional investors who are excited about the business and the progress we’re making. We plan a second seed raise this fall and a Series A raise in the spring of 2015. We beta tested a MVP marketing platform over the past two months, and will roll out a pilot program in early September and a full launch in November. We’ve recruited key contractor partners / customers to assist with testing and roll-out, and are forming partnerships in half a dozen states.
We’re looking for a CTO to build and develop the Pearl marketing platform, which includes:
• Home data collection and certification software
• UX/UI for contractor and consumer facing websites
• Data handshakes with other contractor software and with real estate listing services
• Robust database capable of handling multiple user accounts and permissions
• CRM functionalities that help contractors re-market to their own customers.
The ideal CTO would both code and assist in the management of a non-U.S.-based development team. Experience working in a fast-paced, frenetic start-up environment with far too many opportunities to seize at once is a plus, as is a willingness to fail hard and fast, pivot, and tilt at windmills. Candidates are not required to share the founders’ passion for hiking, natural history, and somewhat eclectic taste in music.
