About Ryan

While studying music business at Berklee College of Music I launched his first for profit venture by connecting two components he knew well, Berklee musicians, who were looking for work, and Vermont ski resorts’ demand for talent. From this understanding, he recruited artists, solicited venues, negotiated performance contracts,
and booked shows at ski resorts and other venues across New England. From then I gained experience at major record labels, artists management firms, in audience analytics, and digital advertising. Finally, prior to launching Cuttime, I completed my MBA at Columbia Business School.

My partner Jason Lekberg and I met on the bleeding edge of the 2.0 boom while working at the social media marketing agency startup Buddylube, later branded YouCast. YouCast blazed the first trails into celebrity social media marketing and was the first social agency of record for more than 120 technologies including now established brands Eventful, ReverbNation, and Twitter. Together Ryan & Jason helped pioneer live casting, celebrity social engagement, and many other current strategies.

Why are we doing this? The music industry often lacks objectivity when selecting suitable brand marketing partners; science takes a backseat to intuitive decision-making, increasing the risk that band-brand collaborations will be ineffective.
C applies an objective analytical approach that recognizes, evaluates, and quantifies each artist-brand match to protect ROI, back up intuition, and avoid the trap of speculation.

We looking for passionate & experienced developers, CS engineers, or data scientists to join our team as advisors, a CTO, technical or data science director.

This is an opportunity to drive real progress for the music industry by developing a better way for brands and recording artists to discover meaningful partnership prospects with one another. Please note that this is an equity only position until we land additional seed funding – 3-5 months likely.
