About Sol

Hi!, my name is Sol, I came from a family background where small businesses were the typical conversation. Investment in few LatAm countries have always caught my curiosity. I owned a small hardware store, a copy center, ran a family groceries store and even helped sell t-shirts with one of my brother when in school (back in SouthAmerica). I felt so proud helping my younger brothers setup and manage their first small businesses as well.

I graduated in Informatics when pascal, and visual basic 6 were boom, but love today's technologies and implementations; the open source community is just so empowering, if in good use. I also got a Business and Information tech degree but I am a continuous eternal student when referring to technology, business, respectful marketing, and changing communities.

Marketing, Spanish Localization, Content strategy, E-commerce, Web Development, Programming, Open Source software, third party solution integration, Retail store management, Technology for non profits, Computer and Administrative Support, are areas I've been proud to serve.

I recently came here to see and get to know entrepreneurs and those people than cannot sleep at night when have an idea in mind. I have a genuine interest on projects that can serve Spanish speaking consumers in areas of retail merchandise, wholesale products and sustainable communities projects support. My first experiences with ecommerce gave me the chances to market and sell few products and merchandise through my own websites (mainly to people in Central and South America) in where I connected with couriers and cargo companies in the US in order to ship them at a really small scale (a more personalized approach).

These are industries or sectors that caught my eyes: Media enterprises, non profit organizations, retail businesses, and online social entrepreneurship.

I am open to teamimg up for ideas and projects, welcome collaborative work, I am able to meet in person around Seattle area, and love partnering for events, cross-campaings, and any other social gathering with purpose.

My status read: 'joining' start-ups - where my contribution can be performed mainly virtually and with occasional personal meetings if needed (negotiable though). I have a passion for challenging and exciting projects in where my skills and creativity are good fit. Off topic, but important things you may need to know, I am a proud mom of a sweet boy, and I consider myself social enough and extremely Latina. It'd would be a pleasure to meet other 'mompreneurs and dadpreneurs' in this network. Feel free to get in touch :)

I may not be the best, but I'm definetely not like the rest. - Unknown
