About Sophie

Heyy! I am Sophie, a creative, driven, happy-go-lucky type of person. I have a First Class Hons Business and Management degree, with a placement year a GSK (Marketing for Aquafresh). I'm adopted into a Jamaican family and what sets me apart is my zest for making things happen. My start-up is in the art industry, which is a sector that I am VERY passionate about and one in which I know my stuff.

After graduating in July 2015, I travelled across India, where I got back into my art by painting on hostel walls in return for a free stay. It was whilst reading the book 'zero to one' in Delhi where I took a leap of faith. I emailed the top consultancy firm in which i had received a graduate scheme for (starting September) and politely declined their offer to pursue entrepreneurship. I quite literally 'found myself' (haha) - whereby I realised that I needed to put my degree in BUSINESS to practice, and where better than in an industry I love?

I'm a quick worker so since September 2015 I have:
- Finalised a business idea (after no joke around 30 versions)
- Mapped out an MVP
- Got both artists and galleries on board with my idea
- Applied for RBS Entrepreneurial Spark Scheme (you will be able to work with me in free: office space, wifi, mentoring, workshops, access to capital etc
- Got my logos - in the process of registering

SO things are moving, and fast!

My aspirations for my art company is to positively disrupt the art-buying industry introducing a new way of doing things - which I'm excited about sharing with a lucky partner.

What I need??
- I need an EXPERT in software developing.
- A quick-witted, motivated and hardworking co-founder slash friend who I can trust and build a business with.
- I'd like someone who challenges me and likes Jamaican food (or willing to try)

Thank you :) Looking forward to hearing back!
