About Steve

Some of the breadth of my experience as a scientist-practitioner includes:
• Credentialed into the London 2012 Olympic Village for USA Track & Field, while serving as the Chair of the Psychological Services Committee and the Sports Science Representative on their Coaching Education Committee.
• One of the first ten sport psychologists to be employed full-time by an NCAA division I athletic department.
• I have worked for professional sport franchises in every major sport across the country, working with team captains, all-stars, league MVP’s, and future Hall-of-Famer’s.
• Invited to be a founding member of the American Psychological Association’s Coalition for the Psychology of High Performance.
• Founding director of the Sport & Performance Psychology graduate program at the University of Denver. We were the first to officially use the label “Sport & Performance Psychology;” a term many folks have since copied.
• Numerous publications and conference presentations on topics such as talent development, elite performers, and leadership & team development. I have been an invited speaker internationally for high performance groups in Dominican Republic, Poland, Australia, Germany, Turkey, Mexico, Qatar, South Korea, Morocco, Greece, and England.
