About Stuart

An entrepreneur, marketing executive, and Internet/online pioneer, Stuart has an array of experience in the entertainment and digital media industries. Career highlights include co-founding the leading entertainment Web site Hollywood.com (originally Hollywood Online) and building the MovieTickets.com brand as its first head of marketing. Stuart runs his consulting company (Halperin Marketing & Digital Innovation), is an in-demand interim chief marketing officer and advises start-ups.

Stuart launched Hollywood Online (now Hollywood.com) with a partner in 1993, using limited seed financing, and operated the business from cash flow for the first two years. The company initiated and promoted the widespread use of interactive multimedia online as a marketing tool for entertainment companies and won a CLIO Award for its "Forrest Gump" interactive marketing campaign. Stuart played a critical role in building Hollywood.com, one of the first Internet entertainment portals.

One of Stuart’s recent entrepreneurial ventures was Ultimate Movie Site, a one-stop destination for movie fans. Prior to this, Stuart was the head of marketing at ClickStar (an innovative entertainment download service) and MovieTickets.com. Stuart began his career working in marketing roles for Universal Pictures and New Line Cinema, and was a newswriter for CNN. He received an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BFA from the NYU Film School. Stuart lives in Southern California with his wife and son.
