About Philip

About me: I'm an academic and an entrepreneur. My previous startup, which did text analysis of medical records, was acquired in 2012 for significantly more than $100M, and I've spearheaded development of social media text analysis technology that's gotten high scores in the Forrester Wave and is currently on the market via an API-based business model. More recently, I founded React Labs (reactlabs.com) to spin out some of my academic research on real-time responses to video, and it has achieved MVP and executed several successful pilots (with ABC7/WJLA-DC, the Washington Post, and Magid Associates). I'd describe myself as high-energy, committed, practical, innovative, and deeply committed to win-win solutions in business and life in general.

What I'm looking for: I'm looking for someone to be the business driver for React Labs, whether that's CEO or some other title. I'm technically strong, with good management skills and business instincts, but what React Labs needs is someone to take the leading role in creating and executing a go-to-market strategy, taking React Labs to its full potential as a company, not just a technology. Ideally that means someone with strong experience, and relationships connected with brands, publishers, and agencies, who understands the need and potential for new forms of engagement and measurement.
