About Wemimo

About me!

Abbey Wemimo is the founder and CEO of Clean Water for everyone (CWFE)—an organization that provides access to clean and affordable water supply in developing nations by working with local people and organizations to achieve positive and measured social, economic, and environmental impacts. CWFE has provided access to clean water for over 25,000 people in four countries.

Abbey graduated with Distinction and holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Minnesota. He’s currently in a Master of Public Administration and Non-Profit Management program at New York University’s Robert F. Wager School of Public Service.

Looking for:

Full-Stack developer

As a Full-Stack, you'll be responsible for building and implementing an amazing web experience for Clean Water for Everyone. You'll work closely with the team to create beautiful, semantic code, and to bring your code to life.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Write elegant, semantic front-end code.

•  Use the latest web standards such as HTML5 and CSS3 to convert static design into a graceful user experience.

•  Wear a few different hats: your primary responsibility will be creating front-end code, but sometimes you'll also act as your own QA tester, and other times you'll help your team craft the user experience.

SHOULD-HAVE BUT NOT REQUIRED

•  Experience in hand-coding HTML5 pages.

•  Extensive knowledge of CSS3 (experience with SASS is a plus)

•  Several years of commercial development experience.

•  Experience with JavaScript including jQuery (Backbone.js is a plus)

SKILLS

You've got a passion for code!

You don't just “cut things up” -- you translate design into a brilliant user experience and you're not satisfied until it looks pixel-perfect. You're passionate about writing logical, well-structured code that's easy to navigate. You don't consider a project done until it works in IE. You test your code on multiple browsers at all times and know how to iron out the kinks.
