Founded 2+ startups
I am a geek and a self-employed sales guy. My main background is philanthropic and sponsorship fundraising. However, I have been a serious technology enthusiast for decades. I have a side business providing one-on-one technology coaching and website development. I bring to the table a combination of real monetizable ideas, business smarts/ experience, friends with money, time, commitment and an understanding of programming/ development issues. I want to create a tech startup because I am passionate about technology and passionate about making a real difference in the world.
I have two potentially big ideas and several smaller potential opportunities. Most of my ideas come from work I have done promoting important societal causes. A few ideas come from studying major technology trends like the move of internet video into the living room. I want to pick the best idea and pursue it. Who knows if one of them is the next big thing? What I do know is that I want to swing for the fences -- I don't want to build another 'me too' product.
I am seeking a coder and a technology enthusiast -- someone that understands both the big picture and the details are important when developing a successful site or app. Like me, you want to make an important contribution to the world through the work you do.
If you have a hot idea, I am also happy to consider joining you.
Of course, we have no idea if we will be a good fit together, but let's have a coffee and start figuring that out. I will be happy to tell you all about my ideas and see if one captures your imagination.
By the way, I actually live in Mississauga, but that wasn't in the system. So, I am not too far from you folks in K-W (home of my alma mater).
