Anyone used a good free SMS service that can be used in a MVP for testing?

We wanted to test some consumer behavior for an experiment over mobile by sharing an invitation only opt-in mobile web page for some MVP testing.  Are there any free SMS services out there that you may have used that offer an API to send out text messages?  We are looking for something really simple.

Google search comes up with many and its hard to know the good and the bad ones.

Thank you and appreciate any guidance,

Try AT&T developer services. Simple, free and backed by massive network directly

Twilio's the biggest. Not free, but cheap ($0.0075 per text message, IIRC) and easy to customize.

I believe textmarks does this. I know the founder there.

I agree with several of the comments above.  We've used Twilio in the past (in conjunction with Parse.com), which work extremely well.

Use twilio.  The trial accounts are free, and the paid accounts are not a lot of investment for an MVP if you want a cleaner message.

Twilio is by far the best option. It won't cost you much for a while until you get to greater volumes. Sent from my iPhone

Thank you all for your great responses and suggestions. Twilio was the group favorite and textmarks/mobivity were nearest. Cheers!

Hello, I'm trialling a new way of dealing with my emails to allow me to better focus on delivering great client marketing and communication campaigns. As such I'm endeavouring to check my emails only 3x a day. Around 8am, 12.30 and 4pm. If your email is super-dooper urgent, please mark it urgent and I will be sent an SMS notifying me. Alternatively, you can call me and I will return your call as soon as I'm able. Regards, Kristin. https://awayfind.com/kaustin -- Opt out of future auto-replies: http://orchant.awayfind.com/oo?h=a22a5f62&e=a13e4828
