Hi everyone. We're looking for two desks for our software startup on the Peninsula (preferably San Mateo). Any good options out there?

The Collective, or Hero City as some call it, is your best bet in San Mateo. If you haven't seen it you should stop by, 55 3rd ave. rents space in the building for their accelector. I actually work in the Collective so I know firsthand that it's a great place to work. It's grand opening is October 10th.

Here is the Facebook page for Hero City,

I would recommend Hacker Dojo in Moutain View. On Sep 18, 2013 12:08 PM, "Daniel Barreto"

Quick update based on our search. We ended up taking a couple of desks at a new co-working space next to the Hayward Park cal-train station (San Mateo) for $200 each @ . There's plenty of space for anyone who's interested.

The Collective is a lot nicer, but a lot more expensive and we couldn't wait till the opening next month.

The Collective on 3rd Ave in San Mateo will be an incubator and possibly a co-working space, but it is still under construction. If I had the capital, I would love to open a co-working space in San Mateo, as there are currently 2 empty but fantastic buildings that would work well for this. Anyone have some capital to spare? :-)

I've organized a meetup called Mid-Peninsula Entrepreneurs. MIght be good group to connect with.

I realize that Mountain View / Palo Alto is not far in terms of distance but I also recognize that driving the 101 is increasingly tedious and time consuming. A sign of a healthy economy.

There is definitely a lack of suitable resources for entrepreneurs in San Mateo, Burlingame etc. Something I hope the new meetup will help to address.

There is also a great spot in Palo Alto called EnerSpace. Check it out here
