I have had multiple mentors in my life.
Chuck House (https://www.coursera.org/learn/startup-entrepreneurship-discovering-ideas/lecture/KnELw/how-to-be-creative-in-large-organizations-intrapreneurship starting at 5 min mark) was one of my indirect managers at HP who taught me a lot about how to be rebel inside a big company, create and lead a change agent organization inside a big company, as well as how to treat subordinates to achieve amazing and seemingly impossible results.
Jef Raskin (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jef_Raskin ) who was a user experience consultant for me after he developed the Macintosh User Experience. He taught me a lot about user experience design and product design and strategy, and that was influential when I later had the chance to co-invent web conferencing as the manager of user experience.
Steve Haber has taught me a lot about how to manage my companies through many problems that are common to start-ups.
