I am curious as to what investment opportunities exist aside from setting up a dispensary.
There is a whole ecosystem. Growing, testing, manufacturing, distribution, retail, genetics, land, greenhouses, track and trace, finance, security, better/faster/denser growing, automation, lighting, and on and on. In Colorado, less than 10% of the total industry is about the plant. Most of it is about ancillary goods and services.
Cannabis industry is growing exponentially not only in the US and Canada, but also in Latin America. As i am involved in the market as well i went to a Meetup where Pytho Partners was talking about the investment that they have done, and announcing a new 10M$ investment fund. They have been doing that for several years in Colorado, and with the recents legalization the market is rising a lot of interest on Startups and VC firms.
Hi John! I'm a cannabis consultant and have been in the sector for quite a few years. There are MANY opportunities for investment in the cannabis industry! Some major areas to look for in investments are: (1) THC products and brands, (2) CBD products, (3) businesses that are ancillary to the sector (banking alternatives, insurance, extraction, etc.), and (4) facilities outside of dispensaries (cultivation, research facilities, labs, microbusinesses- depending on what state you apply in). Happy to talk more if you need! Heres my cell 412-651-1178 and email Emily@TetraGrowthSystems.com.
Also, crowdfunding platforms likely do not permit fundraising for cannabis products because it is still federally illegal despite its legalization in majority of states. Once that shifts, the crowdfunding platforms will shift!
It is still a young industry, and it has some legal constraints because it's not legal in all the States. I will give you my example, we launch the App 2 months ago, and both Google Play Store and Apple Store force us to be very open about the fact that we don't instigate or promote the use or production or manufacturing of Cannabis, this is normal in a recent industry like this
We just have an issue, we even got blocked, but once we did all the suggestions we were published again in both Stores, i guess it's because it's not legal in every. We are not doing any commercial activities at all so far or anything that require license or special permission, we are a social network, but i think that when you are in the thin line between legal and illegal you should be very clear about what you do.
