Marketing Channels: which has acquired the most eyeballs (visits) to your site?

Describe your particular business and business model; are you B2B and/or B2C? and then address the following questions:

Which marketing channel, amongst the following below, has historically granted your online business the most Visits (not Leads?) (optional: why is that the case?)  (I'd also be interested in seeing the "runner up" channel as well!)

  • Search/organic
  • Paid/advertising
  • Direct
  • Social media
  • Partnerships
  • Content syndication (of blogs, ebooks, etc.)
  • Email
  • Industry Influencers
  • Other?

I note you are a marketing manager at a marketing data company affiliated with Hubspot. Is this a genuine enquiry for your business or a survey you can use for marketing purposes?

I'm also interested in the word historically. Most of us could probably draw a graph which mirrors general takeup of the various options - how displaced that graph is shows how backward our company is.

Lastly, there is an apples compared with oranges aspect to your list. How can you correlate industry influencers with visits - the whole point of an influencer is that someone else - the person they influenced - does the visit. Easy to misappropriate this to another route (and many combinations are possible - visits often do not come from a single "channel")
