Partnering with accounting & bookkeeping professionals in San Diego County - How to get intro-meet?

I am pretty new to San Diego county and am in the process of establishing my 11 year old company here. With the move of both our home and the company, I saw a good opportunity to change some of my approaches. I have founded the Max Momentum institute with the aim to help companies learn how to develop their business in revenues, profits and clients. We can also do that work for client for a higher fee.

When we first started the institute we were aiming at all companies that would be interested. Now my new approach in the new location is to partner with accounting and bookkeeping firms to help them and their clients.

I have started networking and reaching out via LinkedIn but haven't had much success getting them on a table to discuss how a partnership that benefits them, their clients, and the institute looks like.

Any suggestions how to get these intro-meetings quicker and easier would be much appreciated. I could also offer no-cost workshop intros 1x/month if the community here feels that would work.

Axel you should also consider targeting Xero / Quickbooks certified advisors. These may not necessarily be in the business of bookkeeping or accounting but they are in close contact with those who are.

(1) CPA's need to be independent and are reluctant in the extreme to partner with anybody; (2) CPA's might see you S as competition; (3) best policy is to network like crazy and lobby for business with owners and top executives; you might have. Stated luck with corporate attorneys, although I am not sanguine about their referral policies in San Diego; in most jurisdictions, CPA's and lawyers are limited.by statute. Sent from my iPhone

Accountants are part of our Power Referral Network, however; this is a very long process. They are conservative by nature and very protective of their clients, so the key is to join organizations that they participate in and have them see you on a regular basis. Our success also stem from our ability to refer them business as well as them referring to us, so you might want to figure out a way it is not so one sided. They don't tend to be interested in partnerships or collaborations as that is their reputation they are leveraging, so that may come in the future after several successful engagements between you and their clients.

When I said partnership I literally meant to develop and find clients for them - if for nothing else than to prove that we know what we are doing. Then, based on their own experience we would hope they would refer us to their clients. The partnering would also include for us to provide monthly workshops with them about both business development and accounting/tax topics. Maybe we can speak on the phone for us to learn what organizations in the community you have been successful with

Having lived in San Diego my entire life I would suggest that folks here are a bit less technically savvy than you might expect for California. I suggest doing more in person networking.
