Has anyone tried using 1:1 videos to sell your product/service? I'm not talking about your company/product marketing video. I mean a personalized video targeting your prospect/customer. If so, did it help?

My experience with trying to sell online directory listings & advertisements through personalized video was far less successful than selling in person or even cold calling. 

While selling a service based product it significantly helped as an aid; getting those customers that were on the fence. I basically had a standard video with customized sections to make clients feel as though it was created just for them. Low-production custom screen-casts with a fantasy 3 second logo intro worked best.

We are just starting a new campaign using personalized video. We have built a tool called Switch Merge that allows us to merge the data we have in our CRM and inject that right into a video. This means that we can email a cold prospect a video that is personalized just for them. 

You can see and example for a fictitious lead at HP called Toni. If this video was sent to another person at a different company then about 15 different things would change. (name, logos, etc)

We don't have much data yet but we are expecting that a personalized message will help increase the number of meetings we book vs just using a standard video. We will know more in 4 weeks.
